North Shore Fiver Series

"Everything changes and nothing stands still." Heraclitus.

For 2015 we have made one major change to the Toonie Series. First what hasn't changed. They will again be three stages of timed enduro racing on amazing fun trails. An apres with food and drink will be provided to all participants. This evening of awesomeness will now cost $5 instead of $2.
There has been huge growth at the Toonie's over the last two seasons. No longer do the volunteers out number the participants. With an increase in the cost of the events we can harness that growth into supporting more substantial trail work. The goal afterall is to put something back into both the riding community and the community asset that are the trails.

Fiver Schedule:

  • April 30 - Seymour - North Shore Bike Shop
  • May 14th - Seymour - Endless Biking
  • May 21st - Seymour - Skiis and Bikes
  • May 28th - Seymour - Lynn Valley Bikes
  • June 11th - Seymour - Norco John Henry
  • June 18th - Seymour - Bond Training / Young Realty
  • June 25th - Seymour - Rocky Mountain
  • July 9th - Fromme - Steed
  • July 16th - Fromme - MEC

On the schedule you will see the bulk of the season's events will take place on Seymour. With the construction of the new parking lot/staging area on Fromme we won't be hosting any events on Fromme until its' completion.

Volunteers will be needed each week to make these great events happen. If you would like to volunteer please email

Looking forward to a great season of events.

The NSMBA is proud to announce the partnership with Race Face in 2015 to create the Race Face Shore Corps.
Thanks to support from Race Face, this initiative will continue to grow and become even stronger in 2015.
With over 600 graduates from the North Shore Trail Builder Academy since 2012, our future looks bright.

The Shore Corps is part of the NSMBA Legacy Program to ensure our trails are cared for today and into tomorrow.
The NSMBA would like to extend our gratitude to Race Face for their support.

The NSMBA is recommending that all riders interested in attending do so on April 16th.

The group’s draft final report with recommendations is available HERE.

To all North Shore riders and NSMBA members,

It's time. Time for the first Fiver of 2015. We are kicking off the season with long time Toonie sponsor and supporter North Shore Bike Shop.

As you can see from the map we're on Seymour and staging will be taking place at Parkgate Park. We have used this location twice in 2014 and it's proven to be a great spot. There is limited parking in the area, please carpool if you can, ride from home, or park dispersed around the neighbourhood.

Sign in will run from 5:45pm to 6:45pm. There is no fixed start time, you can start out onto the course once you have signed in.

Remember you MUST be a current paid NSMBA member to participate.

NSMBA Fiver # 1 Presented by North Shore Bike Shop on

Thanks to funding from BC Hydro, work is underway to tackle projects from Expresso to Ladies Only on the Baden Powell Fromme. The work will take into account the significant changes in usership since the revitalization of Expresso.  Expresso experiences over 3000 uses/month and a whole new beginner/intermediate contigent now uses the BP to the yellow gates.  The work will focus to address erosion, heightened usership, erosion caused by the Kilmer Creek diversions, correcting existing hazards and minimizing grade where appropriate.
